Bertwald of Alclyt (859-878) was a Northumbrian Anglo-Saxon rebel leader from Alclyt (Bishop Auckland) who led a rebellion against King Guthred in 878 AD. He was killed in battle with King Guthred's army at the Battle of Theawleas.
