Bertolfo Campanile

Bertolfo Campanile (died 14 September 1485) was a messenger of the House of Borgia.

Biography[]

Bertolfo Campanile was a messenger working for Rodrigo Borgia and the Templar Order. In 1485, he was found by Ezio Auditore da Firenze on the streets of Venice while taking a payment of money to the Templar Carlo Grimaldi, who was about to carry out the murder of Doge Giovanni Mocenigo. He tried to flee on the roofs, but Ezio pursued him, as did some Venetian guards that also attacked Ezio. Campanile was cornered on a roof, and Ezio beat him up, forcing him to pay him. However, Ezio kept on swinging with his fists until Campanile fell backwards off the roof to his death. Ezio then fought and killed all of the Venetian pursuers on the street where Campanile's body was.
