
Bernhard Klosterkemper (17 April 1897 – 19 July 1962) was a Generalmajor in the German Wehrmacht during World War II.
Biography[]
Bernhard Klosterkemper was born in Coesfeld, Westphalia, German Empire in 1897, and he served as an officer in the Imperial German Army during World War I. He remained in the Reichswehr, and then in Nazi Germany's Wehrmacht, during the Interwar period, becoming a major in 1936. During World War II, Klosterkemper took command of the German 91st Infantry Division, whose leadership became vacant after Wilhelm Falley was killed at the Battle of Sainte-Mere-Eglise on 6 June 1944. On 10 June, he took command of the German 243rd Infantry Division, and he later commanded the German 180th Infantry Division. From May 1945 to 1947, he was held in Allied captivity, and he died in Bremen, West Germany in 1962.
