
Bernard Smith (5 July 1776-16 July 1835) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NJ AL) from 4 March 1819 to 3 March 1821, succeeding Benjamin Bennet and preceding George Holcombe. Born in Morristown, New Jersey, he became postmaster of New Brunswick before serving in Congress. He later moved to Arkansas in 1821 to serve as register at the Little Rock land office, and he served as secretary to the Governor from 1825 to 1828. He died in 1835.
