Benton Jay Hall (13 January 1835-5 January 1894) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IO 1) from 4 March 1885 to 3 March 1887, succeeding Moses A. McCoid and preceding John G. Gear. Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, he was raised in Burlington, Iowa, and he practiced law before serving in the state house from 1872 to 1873, in the state senate from 1882 to 1885, in Congress from 1885 to 1887, and as Commissioner of Patents from 1887 to 1889.
