
Benjamin Wilson (30 April 1825-26 April 1901) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-WV 1) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1883, succeeding John James Davis and preceding Nathan Goff.
Biography[]
Benjamin Wilson was born in Wilsonburg, Harrison County, West Virginia in 1825, and he became a lawyer in Clarksburg in 1848 and served as a commonwealth attorney from 1852 to 1860. He signed the 1861 ordinance of secession, served as a delegate to the 1872 Democratic National Convention, served in the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1883, and served as an Assistant Attorney General from 1885 to 1893. He died in 1901.
