Benjamin Sprague Cowen (27 September 1793-27 September 1869) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-OH 11) from 4 March 1841 to 3 March 1843, succeeding Isaac Parrish and preceding Jacob Brinkerhoff. Born in Washington County, New York, he served in the War of 1812 before settling in Moorefield Township, Ohio and then in St. Clairsville. He practiced law and edited a newspaper before serving in Congress, in the state house in 1845 and 1846, and as a common pleas judge.
