Benjamin Pond (1768-6 October 1814) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NY 8) from 4 March 1811 to 3 March 1813, succeeding John Thompson and preceding Samuel Sherwood.

Biography[]

Benjamin Pond was born in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in 1768, and he moved to Poultney, Vermont in 1800 and then to North Hudson, New York. He became justice of the peace and town supervisor of Schroon, New York in 1804, and he became Essex County judge in 1808. He served in the State Assembly from 1808 to 1810 and then in the US House of Representatives from 1811 to 1813, and he fought at the Battle of Plattsburgh during the War of 1812, dying of disease incurred by exposure from the battle in 1814.
