Benjamin Hardin

Benjamin Hardin (29 February 1784 – 24 September 1852) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-KY 10) from 4 March 1815 to 4 March 1817 (succeeding William Pope Duval and preceding Thomas Speed) and from 4 March 1819 to 3 March 1823 (succeeding Speed and preceding Francis Johnson) and from KY-7 from 4 March 1833 to 3 March 1837 (succeeding John Adair and preceding John Pope).

Biography[]

Benjamin Hardin was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1784, and he moved with his parents to Washington County, Kentucky when he was four. He became a lawyer in 1806 and practiced in Bardstown, and he served in the State House from 1810 to 1811 and from 1824 to 1825, in the US House of Representatives from 1815 to 1817, 1819 to 1823, and 1833 to 1837, and in the State Senate from 1828 to 1832. He died in 1852.
