Benjamin Guillermo Hill (31 March 1874 – 14 December 1920) was the Secretary of War and the Navy in 1920, succeeding Plutarco Elias Calles and preceding Enrique Estrada.

Biography[]

Benjamin Guillermo Hill Salido was born on 31 March 1874 in Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico. He studied in the city of Culiacan and studied at a military academy in Rome, Italy before entering the Anti-Reelectionist Party in Nogales, Sonora in 1910 and taking part in the Mexican Revolution. He commanded military operations in southern Sonora in 1911, and he fought Pascal Orozco's uprising in 1912 with the rank of colonel in the Mexican Army. In 1914, he was promoted to Brigadier-General, and he put down the second Agua Prieta rebellion in 1920. He died of cancer on 14 December 1920, and a town in Sonora is named for him.
