
Benjamin Franklin Shively (20 March 1857 – 14 March 1916) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-IN 13) from 1 December 1884 to 3 March 1885 (succeeding William H. Calkins and preceding George Ford) and from 4 March 1887 to 3 March 1893 (succeeding Ford and preceding Charles G. Conn), and a US Senator from 4 March 1909 to 14 March 1916 (succeeding James A. Hemenway and preceding Thomas Taggart).
Biography[]
Benjamin Franklin Shively was born in Osceola, Indiana in 1857, and he taught school before becoming involved with the Anti-Monopoly Party. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1884 to 1885 and from 1887 to 1893, winning re-election as a Democrat. He went on to serve in the US Senate from 1909 until his death in 1916.
