
Benjamin Contee (1755-30 November 1815) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-MD 3) from 4 March 1789 to 3 March 1791, preceding William Pinkney.
Biography[]
Benjamin Contee was born in Nottingham, Maryland in 1755, and he served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He went on to serve in the House of Delegates from 1785 to 1787 and in the US House of Representatives from 1789 to 1791, serving as a Democratic-Republican. In 1803, he became an Episcopalian priest, and he died in 1815.
