Benintendi Dettori (1099-) was a nobleman of the Republic of Venice from the House of Dettori, and in 1120 he was invited to join the House of Selvo, and was the adoptive son of Bartolomeo Selvo.

Benintnedi Dettori was born into the noble Venetian House of Dettori in 1099, and was raised in the city of Venice itself. He was raised as a religious Catholic and was known to be an expert general, as a siege expert, brave, a drillmaster, night fighter, promising commander, and a fair fighter. In 1120 Dettori was invited to join the ruling establishment, the House of Selvo, as the adoptive son of Councillor Bartolomeo Selvo.
Dettori was a favored member of the family, as he had more ability than his cousins, and perhaps even his uncles. He was made the Governor of Venice in the absence of Doge Domenico Selvo, running the government there.
