Benicio da Silva

Benicio da Silva (died 1643) was a politician of the Portuguese Empire. A Catholic priest, he was also an official in Canton during the era of Portuguese rule over the city.

Biography[]

Benicio da Silva was ordained as a priest of the Catholic Church and became an official of the Portuguese Empire thanks to the efforts of the Templar Order, who chose him to be a puppet because of his home in Canton in the Ming Empire, in which they had plans. In 1642, Da Silva was ordered to keep foreigners out of the ports that Portugal owned in China in order to allow the Templars to take over China. Da Silva destroyed foreign ships and looted them, showing his corruption.

In 1643, Ma Jianguo of the Assassin Order arrived in Canton to assassinate him and stop his role in the Templar plot. While he was inspecting a Spanish ship, he was killed in a sword fight with Jianguo on the top deck, and the port became international again.
