Benasuto Selvo (1100-) was a Venetian nobleman and a member of the House of Selvo.
Biography[]
Selvo was the first son of Bartolomeo Selvo, who at the time was the Councillor of Venice under his father Domenico Selvo. He came of age in 1116 and was considered to be born to command, and was religiously proper, bringing honor to his esteemed family. He married Colleta de Montona.
In 1118 Benasuto started his military career by capturing Milan from the Duchy of Milan in a siege that spanned four years (1118-1122), and he became the Governor of Milan after killing two noblemen in charge of the city.
