Bellovaci

The Bellovaci were a Belgic tribe which inhabited the Silva Carbonaria region of northern France, with Bratuspantion serving as their capital. During the Gallic Wars, the Bellovaci waged guerrilla war against Roman foragers, and Julius Caesar crushed their uprising. The leaders of the Bellovaci uprising escaped to Britain, and the city of Beauvais is named for the Bellovaci.
