Bei Yan (?-238) was an underling of Gongsun Yuan, who caused an uprising in Liaodong. Trying to stop the Wei forces led by Sima Yi, he and Yang Zuo formed their encampment at Liaosui. When Sima Yi went around Liaosui and headed for Xiangping, he pursued, but was surprised by an ambush and suffered a bad defeat. He joined forces with Gongsun Yuan and reformed his unit. He later taunted the Wei officer, Xiahou Ba, and lured him out for a duel, but was himself killed.
