Bedfordshire is a historical county in eastern England. It is bordered by Cambridgeshire to the northeast, Northamptonshire to the north, Buckinghamshire to the west, and Hertfordshire to the southeast, and its major settlements are Luton and the county town of Bedford. In 2016, Bedfordshire had a population of 664,500.
