Beatrice Crawley

Beatrice Crawley (24 April 1883 – 17 September 1961) was a member of the wealthy Crawley family of Kent.

Biography[]

Beatrice Crawley was the daughter of Edmund Crawley and Margot Spencer, and she was born to a wealthy family that had been involved in the import/export business. She was able to make a profitable marriage to Joshua Evercourt, and the family lived in London in a comfortable estate. In 1916, she witnessed the Royal German Air Force's bombing of London during World War I, and the war allowed for her family to increase their wealth by using their merchant navy for helping the United Kingdom with supplies instead of trade. Her family continued to do business with the government into World War II, and after the war she retired from the business. She died in 1961.
