The Battle of the Opera District was a protracted guerrilla warfare campaign in the Opera District of Paris waged by French Resistance fighter Sean Devlin against the occupying German Wehrmacht forces during World War II. The Opera District was located close to Devlin's headquarters at the La Belle du Nuit brothel in Montmartre, making the Opera District an ideal location for a series of attacks on German installations. Devlin succeeded in shooting down his first German zeppelin by using a commandeered German anti-aircraft gun, and he also destroyed several German occupation towers, speakers, and ground vehicles using the gun, wreaking havoc on the occupation forces. Eventually, his actions against the German occupation would badly cripple the German occupation and inspire the people of the Opera District to rise up against the Nazis. As a result of the battle, the Nazi occupation forces in the district were much smaller, and the Resistance in the district was much stronger.
