The Battle of Zonchio was a disastrous attempt by the Venetian Navy to defend Greece from Kemal Reis' Ottoman Navy. The outnumbered Venetian Navy fought well at first but it was abandoned by their French allies, who were disgusted at the barbarity of the Venetians when they looted captured Turkish war ships, and the other Turkish warships routed the Venetian Navy.
