The Battle of Shivenau was fought on 20 October 1655 between a Polish-Lithuanian mercenary band and a Swedish caravan amid the Deluge.
Following a string of victories over Sweden's armies, Jerzy Wisniewski marched his band of mercenaries into Prussia to harass Swedish supply caravans. They intercepted one just northwest of Tapiau (Gvardeysk) at Shivenau (Borskoe) on 20 October. The Polish cavalry charged downhill and slaughtered the mercenary halberdiers who comprised the majority of the Swedish force, and the Poles only lost one soldier during the one-sided action.
