The Battle of Pollredmond was fought between Irish tóraidhe brigands and a party of Irish Confederate irregulars in County Galway in October 1642 amid the Irish Confederate Wars.
After making a comeback victory at the Battle of Drumderry on 30 September 1642, Hennessey began to regain popular support among impoverished Catholic peasants who longed to force the English out of Ireland. His party grew to 31 troops, and, on 1 October 1642, they were attacked by Catholic brigands in County Galway. In the ensuing battle, the Confederates charged and massacred the Tories, stealing their loot for themselves.
