The Battle of Pantoja occurred in 2019 when a team of four American special forces operatives held off attacks by the Santa Blanca Cartel on a Kataris 26 radio transmission from the village of Pantoja, Bolivia.
Even as Major Anthony Perryman's Ghost Recon team scored a series of minor victories against the Santa Blanca Cartel, Kataris 26 remained on the back foot in its heartland of Itacua. In order to rally the people of Itacua against the cartel, Katarirs 26 leader Pac Katari requested that the Americans protect a radio transmission from the village of Pantoja. The Americans activated the radio broadcast before hunkering down around the transmitter and fighting off any sicarios who arrived to shut it down. They were able to hold off the cartel hitmen until the broadcast was finished, after which Santa Blanca ceased its efforts to destroy the transmitter.
