The Battle of Narocz was fought on 2 July 1655 when the army of Poland-Lithuania crushed a Swedish army west of Myadzelsk during the Deluge.
After recapturing Lublin, Minsk, and Brest, Poland's armies marched north, bypassing the Lithuanian capital of Vilna and heading for the Swedish-held fortress of Myadzelsk (Myadzyel). Before assaulting the fortress, the Poles attacked Magnus de la Gardie's Swedish army as it approached the castle to the west. The Polish cavalry charged and massacred the Swedish and Scottish musketeers in De la Gardie's army, although the Swedish pikemen inflicted significant losses on the Poles. Ultimately, the Poles' superior cavalry and numbers overwhelmed the Swedes and destroyed De la Gardie's army.
