The Battle of Morava-Ivan was a major battle of the Greco-Italian War that took place from 14 to 23 November 1940. 70,000 Greek Army troops under Ioannis Pitsikas launched a counterattack into Italian-ruled Albania, facing 55,000 Royal Italian Army troops under Gabriele Nasci. The Greeks attacked through mountain passes in the Morava Mountains of southern Albania, concentrating their efforts on their left flank and pushing the Italians out of several villages. The Greeks succeeded in destroying the Italian forces' resistance to their advance after nine days of fighting, and the Greeks' first major offensive against the Italians was a great success, both as a morale boost and as an operational victory.
