The Battle of Manaea occurred in 2015 during the Medician Civil War when the Liberar Salrosa rebel movement liberated the town of Manaea in the province of Baia, achieving their first major victory over General Sebastiano Di Ravello's regime.
Manaea, the original capital of Medici under Roman and Hunnic rule, was the first city that the Liberar Salrosa rebels targeted once former CIA agent Rico Rodriguez joined their cause. An ambitious Rodriguez single-handedly infiltrated Manaea against the advice of his friend Mario Frigo, and, after toppling the statue to Di Ravello with his grappling hook, he killed several Medician Army soldiers and Di Ravello Militia paramilitarists in a shootout. He proceeded to shoot out the city's loudspeakers to end Di Ravello's propaganda broadcasts, and he stormed the police headquarters before opening the gates to the rebels. The military responded by dispatching attack helicopters and armored vehicles to the city, but Rodriguez and the rebels inflicted heavy losses on the army before forcing them to retreat. With Di Ravello's forces in retreat, Rodriguez raised the flag of a free Medici in the town square, marking the rebels' first major victory in the civil war.
