The Battle of Le Havre Citadel occurred in late 1940 when French Resistance fighter Sean Devlin assaulted the citadel of Le Havre in an attempt to assassinate Nazi officer Kurt Dieker before he could return to Berlin in a zeppelin.

Devlin was informed by British SOE agent Bishop that Dierker would be returning to Germany in a zeppelin after boarding the zeppelin at the Le Havre citadel. Skylar St. Claire, another SOE agent, had Devlin meet up with Resistance contact Jean Pino, who supplied Devlin with a German supply truck and uniform in order to facilitate his infiltration of the citadel. Devlin then drove to the citadel, where he was recognized as a Resistance fighter, leading to a massive shootout. Devlin fought his way through scores of German soldiers by himself, using grenades and his German submachine gun to kill droves of Wehrmacht troops as they attempted to block his path. He then climbed the citadel and made it into the zeppelin, where he brawled with Dierker. Dierker accidentally set the zeppelin on fire with a stray bullet during the struggle, and Devlin attempted to pursue a fleeing Dierker through the exploding airship. Dierker would succeed in making it to the exit, jumping out of the crashing zeppelin before opening his service parachute. Devlin swore that he would kill Dierker another time, and he stayed in the zeppelin until it crashed in the water next to the Le Havre docks. Devlin survived the crash, and he made his way back to the church to inform SOE agent Graham Wilcox that Dierker was still alive, and that he would kill him another time.
