The Battle of Kem Gunung Gurun occurred in 2010 when the communist Reapers paramilitary assaulted the Panauan Army supply depot at Kem Gunung Gurun in the Lautan Lama Desert amid the Panauan Civil War.
After securing the Berawan Besar Mountains from the Panauan military, the Reapers and their leader Bolo Santosi set their sights on the Lautan Lama Desert in southern Panau. Santosi hired the mercenary and undercover CIA agent Rico Rodriguez to help a squad of Reapers secure the supplies at Kem Gunung Gurun for the revolution, transporting them to the base by helicopter. Rodriguez opened the gates to the assailants and destroyed the base's fuel depots and other military infrastructure while covering the guerrillas' advance. He also helped them fight off a military counterattack, killing the stronghold commander Abdul Majeed Zuhair. After Abdul Majeed's death, the military retreated, leaving the rebels in control of a foothold in the Lautan Lama Desert.
