The Battle of Kampung Bunga Mawar occurred in 2010 when the ultranationalist Ular Boys gang assaulted the Panauan Army facility at the port of Kampung Bunga Mawar amid the Panauan Civil War.
Kampung Bunga Mewar served as the port of entry for natural gas produced at Pelantar Gas Panau Timur, and the Ular Boys secretly siphoned off some of the government's gas. As the Ular Boys' leader Sri Irawan grew concerned that the government was onto his gang's operations, he dispatched the mercenary Rico Rodriguez to grab data from three laptops at Kampung Bunga Mawar. Along the way, Rodriguez killed several soldiers, hijacked an attack helicopter, and destroyed the rest of the base. With the military weakened, Rodriguez stole the government's data on the rebels' gas smuggling activites.
