The Battle of Hoke's Run was a battle of the American Civil War which was fought on 2 July 1861 as part of the Manassas campaign. Union general Robert Patterson defeated Stonewall Jackson's brigade in West Virginia, but failed to capitalize on the victory.

On 2 July 1861, Robert Patterson's Union division crossed the Potomac River near Williamsport, Maryland and marched on the main road to Martinsburg, Virginia (present-day West Virginia). Near Hoke's Run, George Henry Thomas and John Joseph Abercrombie's Union brigades encountered Stonewall Jackson's Confederate brigade, and the ensuing battle left 23 Union and 91 Confederates dead or wounded. On 3 July 1861, Patterson's division occupied Martinsburg, but he later withdrew to Harpers Ferry rather than move on Winchester. His movement allowed for Joseph E. Johnston's Confederate army in the Shenandoah Valley to join with P.G.T. Beauregard's army at Manassas junction, resulting in the disastrous First Battle of Bull Run.
