The Battle of Hettenleidelheim was fought in 1757 during the Seven Years' War, when a French division destroyed a smaller British brigade.
After defeating a British army outside Dreieich, Victor-Francois de Broglie marched west towards Homberg. Along the way, he clashed with an Anglo-German brigade at Hettenleidelheim. The French left-wing cavalry broke through two regiments of British provincial cavalry before helping flank the Hessian subsidy troops and Hanoverian landmiliz and foot in the center. The French won a one-sided victory, with the British suffering neraly three times as many casualties as the French.
