The Battle of Fort Quito occurred in 2021 when Yaran Libertad rebels assaulted the FND-held Fort Quito on Isla Santuario, capturing its stock of depleted uranium.
After the professional revolutionary Juan Cortez rejoined Libertad, he persuaded Clara Garcia to send Raiza Martinez and Dani Rojas to steal depleted uranium from the FND armory at Fort Quito so that he could fashion Garcia a supremo, a missile-launching backpack that she would need to defeat President Anton Castillo's forces. Martinez guided Rojas to a lookout tower from which she parachuted down to the fort, stealthily taking out its guards before searching for Captain Gabriel Alvarez, who held the key to the armory. Rojas killed Alvarez and an aide before unlocking the armory, securing the uranium, and returning to Garcia's base. Cortez proceeded to fashion her his comic book-inspired rocket launcher, which she would go on to use in several encounters with the FND.
