The Battle of El Presidio (Spanish: Batalla de El Presidio) was a battle fought during the early years of the Mexican Revolution between the forces of Abraham Reyes and the Mexican Army garrison in Fort El Presidio lead by Javier Escuella. The battle was fought in the region of Nuevo Paraíso in the north-east county of Diez Coronas.

The capture of the fort was a major victory for Reyes and his group of Mexican rebels, allowing them to establish a forward operating base in the region and subsequently seize the main headquarters of the Mexican Army in Nuevo Paraiso after the Battle of Escalera.

Marston accompanied Reyes during the battle. He was given a role of driving a wagon full of explosives into the fort's gate. Despite the best attempts of the Mexican Army garrison to stop the wagon with cannons, John successfully reached and blew the gates, allowing for Reyes and his men to enter the fort with a massive firefight ensuing afterwards.

Javier Escuella, a former member of the Van der Linde Gang and associate for the Mexican government whom Marston was forced to hunt down after the Bureau of Investigation headed by Edgar Ross kidnapped his family, was captured by Marston in the aftermath of the battle.
