The Battle of Dolancourt (27 August 1944) was a battle of World War II that occurred when armored forces from the US Third Army clashed with retreating German forces to the east of Troyes, central France. The Americans secured the town of Dolancourt from the battered German troops, and American and German tanks fought in the farmland around the town as the Germans launched a failed counterattack. By the day's end, the Americans were victorious, having badly flogged the retreating Germans.
