The Battle of Campus Vogladensis was an engagement between the Frankish Empire and the Visigoth Kingdom of Toulouse, which resulted in the annexation of the kingdom by Clovis I, King of the Franks. Clovis invaded the Visigoths' lands in Poitou, France with a large army, facing the army of their king Alric II at Vouille. The Franks fought an intense battle and cut the Visigoths to ribbons following the death of Alric at the hands of Clovis, demoralizing the Visigothic army and causing mass defections. In 508, the Franks conquered Aquitania and Toulouse, bringing an end to Visigothic rule in southern France.
