The Battle of Cambetis was a battle of the Gallic Wars which was fought in the autumn of 58 BC between the armies of the Roman Republic and the Helvetii in present-day Alsace, France.

Following the Siege of Octoduron in early 58 BC, the Celtic Helvetii tribe was deprived of a homeland, and its main horde destroyed. However, a smaller Helvetian horde led by Moritex continued to traverse eastern Gaul in the vicinity of Rauricon (Augst, Switzerland), where the Helvetians warred with the more powerful Germanic Suebi tribe. As Julius Caesar readied his Legio II Iovia for a renewed campaign against the Suebi, the Helvetian king saw an opportunity to capture the unoccupied town of Rauricon. Moritex's small horde of 196 troops, made up mostly of mercenaries, approached Rauricon, forcing Caesar's legion to turn back and march back towards Rauricon. The two armies met at Cambetis (Kembs) on the Rhine River, where the Romans held the element of surprise, ambushing the Helvetians from the woods. The Helvetian column was beset by the Romans and massacred, but the Romans' lack of cavalry enabled 20 Helvetians - including Moritex and his bodyguards - to escape the slaughter. Shortly after, Moritex would use his tribe's remaining money to restore his army's ranks to 441 warriors by hiring mercenaries, but the Romans crushed this army at the same spot with 74 losses; this marked the end of the Helvetii tribe.
