The Battle of Bolimow was a battle of the Eastern Front of World War I which was fought in Poland between the Imperial German Army andthe Imperial Russian Army on 31 January 1915. Supported by experimental tear gas shells, the German 9th Army attacked the Russian 2nd Army. The gas failed and the attack was halted. Russian counterattacks were beaten off and heavy losses were sustained by both sides.
