The Battle of Barvechos was fought between American special forces and the Santa Blanca Cartel in 2019 during Operation Kingslayer. America's Ghost Recon special forces team prevented the cartel from detonating a dirty bomb in the Kataris 26 stronghold of Barvechos, throwing the bomb into a quarry and averting civilian casualties.

In 2019, the Russian ultranationalist group Raven's Rock partnered with the Bolivian Army's Unidad military police unit to help them extract uranium from Media Luna in exchange for a share of it. The United States responded with Operation Silent Spade, intercepting the Russians' uranium shipment and preventing Raven's Rock from taking it back to their country. At the same time, the Santa Blanca Cartel purchased some of Unidad's uranium from a corrupt officer, planning on building a dirty bomb in order to punish the city of Barvechos for its support of Pac Katari's communist rebels. Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team discovered this plot after raiding the Inca Camina Freight Yard, and their superior, Colonel Scott Mitchell, dispatched staff sergeant John Kozak to Barvechos to locate the bomb.

While Kozak infiltrated Barvechos, Perryman and his team helicoptered into the city and cleared it of sicarios. Kozak then set to work on disarming the bomb, while Perryman and his team - joined by Kataris 26 rebels - assumed defensive positions. Dozens of cartel vehicles and even more sicarios made their way towards downtown Barvechos, which was transformed into an all-out warzone as civilians found themselves caught in the crossfire. The cartel nearly overwhelmed the defenders, and Kozak realized that he would not be able to disarm the bomb in time. Desperate to avert a disaster, Perryman drove the truck into the countryside and jumped from the vehicle as it veered off a cliffside and into an abandoned quarry, where the bomb exploded far from any civilian area.
