The Battle of Armonia occurred in 2021 when the Yaran Libertad guerrilla Juan Cortez escaped an FND ambush at the village of Armonia on Isla Santuario.
In 2021, President Anton Castillo's military cracked down on the armed left-wing groups that resisted his regime across Yara. A Libertad raid on Isla Santuario, led by Juan Cortez, was repelled with heavy casualties; only 6 of the original 60 guerrillas survived. After Cortez's helicopter was shot down, he went into hiding at a bar in Armonia, where, unbeknownst to him, the bartender was an FND informant. At the same time, Libertad leader Clara Garcia sent her new associate Dani Rojas to meet up with Cortez and bring him back to the rebel camp. Rojas arrived just in time to find FND soldiers closing in on Cortez, and Cortez shot the bartender on realizing his treachery, had his pet crocodile Guapo strike at an FND soldier, and persuaded Rojas to help him fight his way out of the trap and to the rebel camp. Rojas and Cortez killed several FND troops as they attacked the bar, and, on their way out of the village, Cortez had Rojas storm a nearby government camp and steal a supply crate dropped by an FND helicopter. Equipped with fresh supplies, the two rebels made their way to Garcia's camp, where Cortez fashioned Rojas a supremo missile-launching backpack and contributed his services to Libertad once again.
