The Battle of Amaye-sur-Seulles occurred on 14 June 1944 when the British 7th Armored Division was attacked by the German Wehrmacht after withdrawing to a "brigade box" at Caumont during the Battle of Caen. The British withdrew to Caen after German armor inflicted heavy losses on their weaker tanks, and they held off German attacks on their positions at Amaye-sur-Seulles. Dozens of German troops were killed during the urban warfare in the village, and their attack was repelled.
