The Battle of Acevedo was fought between American special forces, the Santa Blanca Cartel, and the Bolivian Army's La Unidad military police unit in 2019 during Operation Kingslayer.
After destroying the last of the cartel's cocaine stockpile in Tabacal, Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon squad moved into Media Luna to overthrow the corrupt La Unidad commander Miguel de Los Monteros. Along the way, the squad entered the peaceful town of Acevedo, where Kataris 26 planned to broadcast propaganda messages to rally the locals against the cartel. Perryman activated the transmission from the town's crowded square, which quickly became the site of an intense shootout as both cartel sicarios and intervening La Unidad soldiers attempted to shut down the broadcast. Despite nearly being overwhelmed, the Americans fought off the attackers until the broadcast was completed.
