
Batrawi (1143-12??) was an Ayyubid great imam from medieval Egypt who called on the 1176 jihad against the Kingdom of Jerusalem during the Crusades era.
Biography[]
A blessed man of shining faith, Batrawi became a great imam of the Ayyubid Sultanate, having considerable religious power among Sunni Muslims. In 1176, he called for jihad against the Kingdom of Jerusalem, ordering the conquest of Jerusalem in the name of Allah and the eviction of the Christian crusaders from Outremer.
