All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland", also known as Baktivshchyna, is a Ukrainian political party which was founded on 9 July 1999 by Yulia Tymoshenko. The party advocated for national, democratic, and Christian values, reformation, spirituality, patriotism, national solidarity, responsibility, rights, and freedoms, and it sought to turn Ukraine into a Westernized nation-state based on justice and welfare. In 2014, the party amended its views on neutrality, favoring Ukrainian membership in NATO as a part of an anti-Russia defensive pact. From 2011 to 2014, Tymoshenko was imprisoned by Viktor Yanukovych's authoritarian regime and the party (along with all other blocs) was banned from participating in parliamentary elections. After the Euromaidan uprising of 2014, the party was legalized and Tymoshenko released, and the party returned to being a major party in the country.
