Bass River Township is a township in Burlington County, New Jersey. It was incorporated on 30 March 1864 from portions of Little Egg Harbor Township, and it is named for the 4.7-mile Bass River tributary of the Mullica River; the river was, in turn, named after Governor Jeremiah Basse. In 2016, Bass River had a population of 1,443 people.
