Barzan Abd al-Ghafur Sulayman Majid al-Tikriti () was a commander of Ba'athist Iraq's Special Republican Guard under Saddam Hussein.

Biography[]

Barzan Abd al-Ghafur Sulayman Majid al-Tikriti was a member of the Iraqi Regional Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party in Iraq, and Saddam Hussein appointed him as one of the commanders of the Special Republican Guard of Ba'athist Iraq during his rule over the country. al-Tikriti was one of the Iraqi government officials that the United States sought to capture during the course of the Iraq War, and he was captured on 23 July 2003. He was released from prison on 29 June 2020.
