The Barvechos money truck ambush occurred in 2019 when American special forces ambushed a convoy escorting one of the Santa Blanca Cartel's money trucks as it moved through Barvechos Province.

As part of their mission to take down Octavio Allende's money laundering operation in Barvechos, Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team discovered that the cartel used Banco de Barvechos trucks to move their money from Brazil to the bank in Barvechos. Perryman conceived a plot to drive a wedge between Allende and his boss Nidia Flores, who was already suspicious of him. The Americans attacked the convoy from a helicopter before landing on the highway and securing the truck. The Americans proceeded to take the money truck to Allende's hideout, stashing it there and leaving undetected. Shortly after, the Americans raided a cartel outpost in northern Barvechos and found Flores' personal computer, hacking into it, empying her bank accounts, and transferring the money to Allende's account. These two incidents made Flores believe that Allende was stealing from her, causing the two to go to war.
