
Bartolomeu Cabral was an explorer of Portugal.
Biography[]
Bartolomeu Cabral was born in Castelo Branco, Portugal to a Catholic family, and he attended Henry the Navigator's school of navigation. Cabral became an explorer, and he founded a colony in the Amazonia region in what is now Brazil. He founded Banco do Sul in 1649, and he destroyed the Spanish Empire's colony of San Rigoberto de Amazonas, led by Cristobal de Inciso, during the Portuguese Restoration War.
