
Barry Hovis (born December 1964) was a Republican member of the Missouri State House from District 146 from 2019.
Biography[]
Barry Hovis was born in December 1964, and he worked as a policeman and as a cattleman in Cape Girardeau, Missouri before becoming involved with politics. He became Vice President of the Cape Area Friends of the National Rifle Association, and, in 2018, he was elected to the State House of Representatives. On 17 May 2019, he earned criticism for suggesting the existence of "consensual rape", a coment he later apologized for.
