
Baron Guy of Buwayda (14 July 1161-11 September 1195) was a noble of the Kingdom of Jerusalem who served as regent from 1194 to 1195 for Amalric II of Jerusalem.
Biography[]
Guy was born on 14 July 1161 to the House of Ascalon, a dynasty of Catholic French. He was granted the barony of Buwayda on 5 October 1190 by King Guy de Lusignan after its capture from Saladin. He became the regent for Amalric II of Jerusalem in 1194 when he came to power after previously serving as the regent of Al Mafraq. Guy died on 11 September 1195 of pneumonia, and Roger de Moulin replaced him as regent.
